Who is Casey?
Casey Garcia is a 27-year-old recording and performing artist with a deep passion for songwriting. Known for his thought-provoking lyrical style, he draws inspiration from personal experiences to craft vivid, emotionally resonant narratives. At the heart of his work is a consistent message of hope—the hope that one day we can fully accept ourselves and embrace what makes us unique. Casey takes pride in the power of his dreams and encourages dreamers of all ages to pursue whatever makes them feel most alive.
Born and raised in Toronto, Casey showed a strong musical inclination from an early age. His mother, Fe, recognized his interest in music and enrolled him in classical piano lessons at the age of four. As he grew older, his motivation to learn intensified. By 12, he picked up the guitar, and by 14, he began writing lyrics. His love for creative storytelling and poetic devices naturally led him to the world of hip-hop. Early influences include iconic artists such as Lil Wayne, Drake, Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Kendrick Lamar. On his 17th birthday, Casey released his debut mixtape, Genius Child LP, marking the start of his journey as an independent artist.
With the guidance of mentor and friend Patrick De Belen, Casey became actively involved in Toronto’s spoken word poetry scene—competing in poetry slams and performing across the GTA. This chapter of his life not only refined his writing and stage presence but also deepened his emotional intelligence, helping him connect with audiences on a more profound level.
Now, at 26, Casey has further developed his sound, embracing a wide range of musical genres. After a four-year hiatus spent attending culinary school and working in professional kitchens, he has returned to his first love: music.
Currently, Casey is focused on re-establishing himself in the music scene. He is working on a new album and actively seeking live performance opportunities to share his evolving artistry with the world.
